It has taken seven years, however, I have finally thrown the ignore switch on someone. It has created a sense of peace. I am aware that at some stage I may repent of this action of 'un-ignore' to use the contemporary idiom. But that you for providing this respite in the forum.
How does this ignore feature work in practice? If you ignore member x do you just not see anything he or she has written or just not get alerted that "x" has replied to or liked a post. Does x know that they are ignored by you?
No notices, no posts... it all disappears. Try it for a day or three; it's totally simple to 'un-ignore' (switch back) afterward; don't worry, you won't break the internet!
There was no need for the announcement, save to acknowledge to the leadership team, and others, that there was value in this little-used feature.
