Franklin Graham: Boycott businesses that promote the gay agenda

BOONE, NC, June 12, 2015 (LifeSiteNews) – The Reverend Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, is advocating a boycott of businesses that promote homosexual “marriage.”

"Have you ever asked yourself: How can we fight the tide of moral decay that is being crammed down our throats by Big Business, the media, and the gay & lesbian community?" Graham posted on Facebook. "Tiffany’s started advertising wedding rings for gay couples. Wells Fargo bank is using a same-sex couple in their advertising.”

"But it has dawned on me that we don’t have to do business with them," Graham concluded.

And he backed it up with action. "At the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, we are moving our accounts from Wells Fargo to another bank."

Franklin Graham is head of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, which reported net assets of $295 million, and income in 2014 of $107.7 million. While Wells Fargo is based in San Francisco, has become the second-largest bank in North Carolina since it acquired Wachovia. Graham is moving the Association's assets to BB&T, based in Winston-Salem.

Graham is also president of the Samaritan's Purse relief organization, which helps those in need, whether from natural disasters or from loss of business because of persecution by homosexual advocates.

Graham is moving Samaritan's Purse's assets, which distributed contributions and grants totaling $460 million in 2013, as well.

As for Tiffany's, their pro-homosexual policies have lost them a customer, too. "We don’t have to shop at Tiffany & Co.,” he wrote. “There are plenty of other jewelry stores."

Graham posted, "This is one way we as Christians can speak out—we have the power of choice. Let’s just stop doing business with those who promote sin and stand against Almighty God’s laws and His standards."

Graham hopes that if his boycott catches on, perhaps the gay agenda onslaught might be stopped, or at least slowed down. "Maybe if enough of us do this, it will get their attention," Graham wrote. "Share this if you agree."

A Wells Fargo ad features two lesbians learning sign language; in the final scene, they meet a young, deaf girl, signing to her, “We’re going to be your new mommies.” A voiceover says that Wells Fargo offers its services “For when Two becomes Three.”

Print ads feature not just a homosexual couple, but ads centered around homosexual "marriage." One shows two homosexual men holding a child (a boy), with the caption: "'Gay' Reflects Our Company's Values."

On radio talk show "Washington Watch with Tony Perkins," Graham explained, "I'm not going to do business with a business promoting sin. As Christians, we don't have to do business with Starbucks, with Nike, with Wells Fargo, with Tiffany's that are promoting a gay lifestyle."

Wells Fargo Bank issued a statement in response, saying, "Wells Fargo’s support for the LGBT community aligns with our broader commitment to diversity...to hire, develop and retain diverse team members."

Disregarding Franklin Graham's sentiments, the bank wrote to MSNBC, “Our advertising content reflects our company’s values, and represents the diversity of the communities we serve.”

Corporate America has aggressively targeted homosexual consumers in recent years. Companies such as Kindle, Marriot, Chevrolet, and Target have specifically created ads appealing to homosexual customers. Minnesota-based food giant General Mills, which manufactures Cheerios, has publicly come out against a traditional marriage amendment in Minnesota.

Nearly 100,000 people on Facebook have agreed with Franklin Graham's post by “liking” it, and nearly 50,000 shared his post. Many of the nearly 15,000 commenters said they would heed Graham's call to move bank accounts.

I've thought a lot about this aspect of our current trouble and I don't find it at all easy?
We used to have a cafe/restaurant nearby where I lived, in an old 18th, Cent, Toll House, it was run by two old dears , both male who ran it for years .Obliging and friendly to their customers, good food, as I understand these things,(Lancashire Stodge, ) I don't think that I could have boycotted them! I might be tough and firm with a banking and commerce giant, a hard liner in fact, but howandever? I would be weak, if uncomfortable?
