They've had some ethnic and riot troubles in London and the UK. I don't think the issue is the specific group discussed by the preacher, it's their concern for prevention of disorder. I'm not an apologist for UK law which is very strict about public order, safety, disruptive behaviour and the like, e.g., libel. The history of the Northern Ireland troubles and bombings were the start of it and sensitized them. They merrily continue.

It reminds me of this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-16810312 and http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3678694.stm. Countries seem to have become general paranoid in the wake of the terror fears, but then it has morphed toward something that seems more sinister. I understand your concern that the USA lacks freedom (I presume this is your reference to "land of the free"). The recent revelations by Edward Snowden that the USA National Security Administration is monitoring 100% of internet, email, telephone calls, electronic purchases, text messages, and almost every though we thing (they would if they could), does seem to threaten freedom of conscience. My country is going along with it and exchanging info with them. The problem is a large one.
