Has anybody heard of the Anglican Covenant ? It supposedly came out of a recomendation of the Windsor Report. I found a web sight in opposition to it : https://deimel.org/noanglicancovenant/ but have not seen anything in favor or fully explaining it.

It was a document drafted under the reign of Rowan Williams in the 2000’s, as a last ditch effort to reign in the liberals in the Anglican Communion before they destroyed the Episcopal Church, and the Church of Canada. It sought to establish a world-wide doctrinal center to which each of the national Churches would be accountable. What’s wrong with that? Absolutely nothing, it is an awesome proposal, and if we had it maybe the the wars and suffering over doctrine would be averted, by expelling a few key revisionists in a few national Churches. It is way over due in the Anglican Communion. Heck even the Methodists have it, and they are schismatics from the Anglican Church. But needless to say the proposal was rejected, among other places in Canterbury itself, which was most embarrassing for the Metropolitan. And not that he’s any kind of traditionalist, but the CofE was even then already overrun by its own liberals, who nixed it. This was one of his last projects before resigning from the See of Canterbury. Interestingly enough, once the Communion experienced a fracture in 2008 and the traditionalist bastion of GAFCON has emerged, they immediately set to work on developing a worldwide doctrinal uniformity, enforceable across the world, as seen in the founding 2008 charter, more recently in the 2018 Letter to the Churches, and the 2018 book by the Rev’d Phil Ashey entitled “Conciliarism”. Ashey is one of the most influential theologians on the national scene in the ACNA today.
The Episcopal Church is incredibly wealthy (partly from wealth granted by Queen Anne in the early 1700s, ironically). The CofE is struggling financially. Also, there is a huge party within the CofE which wants to follow down TEC’s track. They make sure that there happens no rift between the two churches.
The covenant would be a great way to end the chaos in the Anglican Communion, which is precisely it won't pass. The progressives in the Episcopal Church, the Anglican Church of Canada, the CoE, SEC and CiW (and their relatively few allies in the Global South) don't want to be under any authority but their own.

I think SEC stands for "Southern Episcopal Church" (no parish listings beyond the cathederal on their web site.... thats kinda weird...you'd think they'd want people to find their congregations)
