I left the church for seven years, for various reasons. I have found my way back to God. I am sorry for my absence - I have fallen short of the glory of God.
You allude to Romans 3:23 since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; There is a difficulty with the Greek tense here and it may well be better translated as since all have sinned and are falling short of the glory of God; I know I find that a much more helpful way to understand the text, and mas more meaning the the context of the life of the Christian. Many of us have had moments in the life of the Church, and some of us have wandered and returned. It is a journey and a process, we get knocked down, but we get up again. We, though sorry for your absence and gladder of your return. Perhaps the parable of the prodigal son will mean more to you now. http://bible.oremus.org/?ql=353092856
I left the Church for over 20 years, but God didn't give up on me and called me back to Him. Welcome back, it's good to have you here.
