New stats mean new losses for the Episcopal Church. So sad. Please pray for my province and my parish. http://www.virtueonline.org/episcopal-church-numbers-continue-plummet
Amazing... Any bets on whether they will come to see the error of their ways and change their course? I'm not holding my breath.
another report on virtue on line shows the TEC will lose about 2000 clergy in the next few years due to age. No real replacements in the seminaries. also most parishes will not be able to support full time clergy. The decline of a group that has so embraced the culture in defiance of God and His scripture should scare all of us. It does appear they have cut themselves off from the vine. Let us not leave out the Roman Catholics and Southern Baptists. Per reports the RCC loses 3 million a year in the states. Numbers are inflated due to the high number of illegal and legal Latinos who come into the states. But their numbers drop off considerable by the second or third generates. The SBC is losing 250,000 per year. As they are only 16 million strong, this is very troubling for this group. Blessings, Fr. Mark Brown
The twenty first century is proving to be a great time of trial for all people of faith. Consumerism, materialism, sex , drugs, love of money, apostasy, heterodoxy, false prophets are just some of the tools used by The Evil Whisperer to confound men and he is rampant. Our only hope lies in prayer, loving our neighbour and loving God for this confounds The Evil Whisperer who lusts for souls
It is unfortunate that we who were lost are coming to church and yet those in the church are getting out. I think the only thing is to pray for them coz one of the most wonderful mysteries in the universe is that prayer changes things.
