I thought I would introduce myself properly since I’ve already barged into several threads before doing so! I’m from Singapore, grew up in an Assemblies of God church and was recently confirmed as an Anglican after several years of attending services at the cathedral in Singapore! After some difficulties with AOG and pentecostal beliefs, many years of pain and tumult in my personal life and trying to run away from God, I found myself unexpectedly in an Episcopalian church while abroad. The holiness and reverence of the liturgy and the experience of worshipping in communion with the entire church spoke deeply and profoundly to me. It was one of many moments that led me on my journey back to a God that I now know I cannot live without. As a recently confirmed Anglican, I’m excited to continue to learn more about the church, its history, liturgy and thinkers. If anyone has any books that they love regarding these subjects or any books by Anglican theologians that they enjoyed, please do share
Welcome. Here's a good introduction to Anglican history and practice that is about 200 pages and not very technical. The Church in History, by John E. Booty. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show...y?ac=1&from_search=true&qid=xVTXE58Swy&rank=1 It might be out of a print but a readable used copy only runs 5-10 USD.
