I just saw that this forum allows you to upload files! I was looking for a way to share this without also sharing my identity!

 

Wow what a hefty document! And it’s a real blessing for someone like me who is still growing in and learning about the Anglican tradition to see how others apply the BCP for individual use.

My own daily prayers have been evolving with the Common Worship Daily Prayer book, which I use in conjunction with the lectionary. I have the physical books, but does anyone use the apps for these and would you recommend them?

 

Without scrolling through all 568 pages can you inform us how this has been personalised for your use? Did you spend time creating this yourself or did you use some app in order to do it?

The C of E website can serve up the Common Worship-style daily prayer with full Psalms and readings, I think. Have you checked it out?

Absolutely. The bulk of it is the 1928 BCP, less the episcopal and pastoral offices. I folded all the seasonal stuff in with the Collects, Epistles, and Gospels to minimize page flipping and searching, and I made it the size of a Gideons pocket NT to fit nicely on a phone screen. The Occasional Prayers section has stuff from several sources, and a few that I made up as well.

I also included some hymns and notes about things. My personal copy also has stuff for my anniversary, and a few extra names in the sanctoral.

Thanks for this. Very interesting indeed.

I myself have adapted the common worship texts for my own use...I'll post some here at some point soon. I am especially fond of adapting private liturgical formula for confessing my sins to God Almighty as noted as the first requirement before auricular confession in the BCP.

To quite Lord Vader: 'most impressive'. I like the '28, but all that page flipping does need sorting out - good job!

 

Back with another update. Streamlined some bits, removed parts that I wasn't using, reorganized the hymns, added some blessings.
