It seems as if the folks who swam the tiber may be brutally surprised about the real nature of the Roman communion...

If Francis does "come after" the Anglican Ordinariate," so be it. If the drive is to "modernize" and homogenize RC liturgy, at the expense of Anglican tradition, so be it. I say that because it will be good for those Anglicans who have joined themselves to Romanism, if they wake up and realize that righteousness and unrighteousness have no communion together. They were in error to join themselves to Rome, and such a development might wake them up to this truth.

On a separate note, although Benedict had a lot on the ball, I think he was mistaken to issue a statement that the invisible church and the visible church must be considered as one entity. This can never be, so long as the curse remains on the earth. The invisible church consists of all truly regenerated followers of Christ; the visible church consists of all human beings on the church's membership rolls whether they are regenerated or not. The former is uncorrupted and incorruptible; the latter contains corruption. The former has its recognition in heaven; the latter has its recognition on earth. The former is led by Christ alone; the latter is led by imperfect men (in the name of Christ, purportedly) who have degrees in divinity but varying degrees of holiness.
