Hello and good afternoon, all! I’m CR, an Englishman and new to this forum. I’ve been around the Christian denominational supermarket (Catholicism and Orthodoxy, with some time as a Benedictine) and am returning to Anglicanism after 9 years away. I’ve always found the BCP (over here there’s only the 1662, though I quite like the 1928) a great comfort and wonderful liturgical text. I’m here to talk with other Anglicans and learn. I do not know what brings me back or why in the midst of my great doubt and fear I have come back to attending church again, but I can only assume the pull of God which has been strong despite my own issues is what has brought me to this point and I hope to walk on our spiritual journey together in great harmony and encouragement. God bless, CR
Hi 'CanterburianRoo', welcome. Come on in, have a good look round, make youself at home and contribute to the group experience. .
Welcome! How did you come up with your username? Does the Roo come from some association with Australia perhaps?
I studied theology in Canterbury and it’s my ecclesiastical province in the CofE. Roo is an old nickname, indeed relating to kangaroos!
Ah as an Orthodox myself, or somewhat in between Orthodoxy and Anglicanism, it would be interesting to talk to you about what brought you back to Anglicanism.
Welcome! I am formerly Orthodox myself, and will be more than happy to share my thoughts on the subject.
