If you have good, or better, Latin can you please translate this into English: Thesaurus Liturgiæ Horarum Monasticæ. I’ve a reasonable idea what it is and tried Google Translate but its translation was definitely wrong.
Thesaurus = Thesaurus Liturgiæ = of the Liturgy Horarum Monasticæ = of the Monastic Hours Probably a study of the seven monastic hours.
Thesaurus = Treasury It’s the “Treasury of the Liturgy of the Monastic Hours”. Probably prominent samples (festal and/or ferial) from each of the hours, plus probably special offices like the Triduum, Office of the Dead, etc., if I had to guess.
It's actually the document outlining the guidelines for Monasteries and Monastic Orders to adapt the Divine Office to their own communities within the RCC. "Compendium of Liturgical Monastic Prayer" is the title of the 1982 English translation. I am assuming we're referencing the same document.
I should perhaps have been clearer in my original question. I know what it is. It is a directory of the Divine Office revised post-Vatican II and published ad experimentum in 1977 by the Secretariat of the Abbot Primate of the Benedictine Confederation for use by monasteries in the Confederation. It was a good translation of its title in English about which I was unsure. It was my understanding it had never been translated into English. Do you have a link to this 'Compendium of Liturgical Monastic Prayer'?
I've only seen it in physical form in the Abbey library during one of my classes. I just asked one of the Brothers about it and he thinks it was a self publication by the Swiss-American Benedictine Congregation. I looked online for a bit but I didn't have any luck finding it. If I do find any other information I can post it here.
