Are there some passages in The Bible or the Book of Common Prayer that help one with grief and mourning? If so, what are they please? Thank you.
The Psalms would indeed be good, and this site has a list of some verses that fit: https://www.biblestudytools.com/topical-verses/bible-verses-for-overcoming-grief/
I have found a lot of value and solace in the US 1928 Book of Common Prayer: http://justus.anglican.org/resources/bcp/1928/BCP_1928.htm It has things like -The Order for the Burial of the Dead -At the Burial of a Child And a whole host of shorter Family Prayers: http://justus.anglican.org/resources/bcp/1928/Family_Prayer.htm with things like: -Prayer for Grace to reform and grow Better. -For Quiet Confidence. -For the Recovery of a Sick Person. -For One about to undergo an Operation. -For Those in Mental Darkness. -For an Anniversary of One Departed.
Excellent. Thank you all. For some reason it didn't cross my mind to search Google first. This seems good too: https://www.kingjamesbibleonline.org/Bible-Verses-About-Grief-And-Sorrow/
This site has lots to comfort from scripture: https://www.shutterfly.com/ideas/bible-verses-about-loss/ Many find solace in Hymns Ancient and Modern too: Abide with me, Guide me O though great Redeemer, Jesus lover of my soul and many more. Some Psalms are good, but the best are ones which express doubt and despair such as Psalms 13, 20, 22, 69, and especially 130-131. These open up our hearts to God in open, honest despair of ever understanding His ways when we are in the depths of grief. God must have felt that way too, as we hung his only Son on a cross to die, simply for showing us all how to love one another. .
