A dear friend of mine gave me a personalized Canadian BCP with my name on a golden plate on the cover. It is brown leather and a gorgeous volume. The vicar at the church where I am organist also loves different BCP's. What is the best, beautifulest one on the market?

I have a 1979 bcp I picked up from a garage sale for 50 cents. It has a few lovely threads that keep the pages together.

The cost is fairly doable if you catch it at a good point on Amazon. I think I got mine for under 10$, but it had been marked up to 30$ at one time. A bit hard to use for just an average person (like me) who prays a simple daily office, but it is nice to have around. I also have the companion Gospel book from which I do my daily readings. Having beautiful language and images really elevates one's prayer life.
I have this as well. It was part of a series including the Gospels and some other Scriptures, each with similar cover and internal art.
This is the one I'd be recommending (and buying for myself) if it were still in print. It's an enlarged edition of the 1662 BCP bound in brown goatskin leather from Cambridge University Press. Described, I believe by its own publisher, as the finest prayer book on the market, for some reason which is beyond me CUP decided to put it out of print.. At present Cambridge isn't producing The Book of Common Prayer in goatskin at all and as long as I'm aware that this one was available until only a few years ago (which I am, so I can't very well become unaware of it) I can't bring myself to buy any prayer book at all and am simply hoping that at some point CUP will see fit to rerelease it (or a new version equivalent to it) so I can have one.
This is actually a Western Orthodox Prayer Book, so it's roughly the 1928 with Anglo-Catholic additions. Very, very, nice. It has a complete suite for the Daily Office, the Anglican Missal form of Holy Communion, et cetera. Only issue is that it only has the orthodox form of baptism/confirmation (which are combined). Overall, it's a wonderful book.
