A heretic who pretends to an Anglican cleric (fixed that for you...) To be an Anglican you first have to be a Christian, but seeing as how he's not even a Christian, or an Anglican, he just plays dress up as one on TV, and to disturb the good people of God
I share your outrage. One trusts that the Bishop of Glasgow, and indeed the Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church, will do their job. Sadly I wonder if he is not another of the wonder priests fallen victim to the temptation to become media tarts. I do hope he gets a curt note from the Duke of Cambridge.
The fact that this "cleric," and others like him, can say such things and suffer no repercussions, speaks volumes regarding the state of the Church today.
I guess that "pray the gay away" conversion therapy works since you can now "pray the gay" into small children. Priests, bishops, etc.. may all say outlandish and stupid things, but are they reprimanded for such actions? I feel like the Anglican communion is witnessing its own collapse when these "priests" are not subject to any censure or discipline.
The moral indecency of speculating about the sexuality of a four year old is both unfathomable and incomprehensible. In putting issue before person he has absolutely obscured the Gospel. How dare he?!?!
Many years ago I was thinking about following the Roman Catholic Church. At that time, there was a need for electing a new Pope. I was interested to see what and how they do that. It was on the TV news when they interviewed one of the bishops up for nomination. The interviewer asked about who actually decides on who gets the office, and the bishop said it was the Holy Spirit. Then the interviewer asked about some Pope who did not last long in office. The bishop said that sometimes the Holy Spirit gets it wrong. That statement, from a bishop, shocked me. It put up a wall between me and the RCC.
So heretics in the Anglican Church pray for a small child to become gay. While in Belgium, a Roman Catholic parish displays a crucified cow. In the States, the ACNA which is suppose to be the opposite of the TEC, we are seeing the quiet affirming of the homosexual agenda. I have just gotten off the phone with some fellow priests, we were talking about the second and third point. Now I see this. The depths the Church has sunk into the slime and sewer is heart breaking. I do believe God is allowing Satan to do to the Church what He and Satan talked about with Pope Leo overheard in 1893. 70 years after was Vatican II and the Church, all parts, have run from God since. Pope Benedict is right, the Church needs to get smaller, to thrive and grow. I pray God does not keep us in the threshing floor for too long. But we sorely need a good cleansing of Holy fire and judgement. God have mercy upon us sinners. Fr. ^ I agree. I'm in +Iker's diocese and I haven't heard or seen any softening of doctrine on homosexuality.
I don't know if this is a common phenomenon amongst all churches, but it seems that "liberals" are given a lot more leeway than "conservatives". For example, in the Catholic Church, the SSPX is often treated with contempt, but individual churches that claim to have ordained women, and claim to be in full union with the Church, are given all the time in the world to change their ways.
