Born and raised in the Pentecostal tradition, including Triune Baptism. Confirmed in the RCC in 1999. Have struggled mightily with a lot of faith issues almost the entire last decade which has led me searching, reading, searching, reading, etc. Really love the continuing Anglican bodies and will start attending my local ACC this Sunday. WIll do. I had been to a service there once before. Small parish, but very wonderful people and a great pastor/priest. I've also attended a few services at a couple of APA churches as well. I like the ACC a wee bit better though. Blessings!
Welcome aboard. I spend many a day with the local ACC priest. Great group. If you have not read it yet, get Anglican Catholic Faith and Practice by Archbishop Mark Haverland of the ACC. Less than 200 pages long. It is from the notes, classes and lectures he used and uses to instruct adults who seek to be received into the ACC. You are fortunate to have options where you live. It is not that common to find multiple continuing parishes in a town or even nearby, reasonably close towns. That is, it seems, primarily an East Coast privilege. What were the deciding factors for you?
Honestly, location. The east coast does have a lot of continuing Anglican churches. We only have 3 in South Carolina yet one of them is only about 20 miles from me. There are a bunch of APA churches just over the state line in NC. I can't go wrong with either and knowing me, I may not know where I am going until I wake up Sunday morning. (I have issues with anxiety and indecisiveness and need to be on meds for it in all sincerity.) I know a few of the priests and they are ALL wonderful pastors. If you live in the western USA, then I do feel for you. Parishes are very widespread. There are only FOUR ACC parishes in the entire Diocese of the West. Blessings!
Question, if a continuing Anglican is out of town over the weekend and the closest Anglican church to him/her is an ACNA church, would a member of ACC, ACA, APA, etc be allowed to receive the Eucharist in the ACNA? I only ask because they do allow women's ordination. Thanks.
You should consult your clergy. My guess is that some jurisdictions would say 'yes' as long as the celebrant and whatever other clergy the congregation may have are male and a prayer book is used (because some of the charismatics in ACNA have tossed the Prayer Book out the window and made up a service format - there are even a few that incorporate the faux-tongue speaking so in vogue in our times). The ACC will most likely say no. They have a very narrow view of whether other Anglican jurisdictions have valid holy orders. Without valid orders, there cannot be a valid eucharist. As for me, I am up the road in Virginia.
Yeah what is up with ACNA and charismatic worship? I grew up in a pentecostal church where there was multiple speaking in tongues, people running up and down the aisles screaming, people shaking violently. I cannot imagine that THAT is what occurs during an ACNA service?

Love Virginia. My late mother had an aunt and uncle that owned a grocery store in the Faber, VA area for years and mom loved to get back up there quite a lot. I love Abingdon. It's 4.5 hrs from my house but it's the closest place I can get Stroh's beer. LOL! Beautiful land up I-81.
The OAC cathedral is in Myrtle Beach: Church of the Good Shepherd. We also have Holy Cross Mission in Columbia.
