Hello Friends, I wanted to tell you all about the CEC since there have been questions about it and others may not know about. The CEC is a convergence Church or three streams Church. Those three streams being Charismatic, Evangelical, and Sacramental. We are Anglican in Governance. Are you? You don't sound like an Anglican Church to me, and you are not part of the Anglican Communion. And remember, "opening threads to bait other members and advocate other churches is not allowed".

"Anglican" isn't a term describing polity. Perhaps the CEC has bishops, but that does not an Anglican make.
I am familiar with your church through a former relationship with one of your priests. However, I have never attended one of your services. I confess I have a hard time envisioning how the melding of your three streams actually looks, sounds, and works in a worship service. :think:
Well it starts as a regular Liturgical service than after the Gospel is read we have three praise songs where parishioners can worship and after that the rest of the service follows the standard Anglican Liturgy though in the creed we do not say the filoque
Indeed. I call myself catholic (which sometimes causes a bit of confusion). But Rome doesn't recognise me as such. As I've mentioned before, in this country we have the example of the Methodist Margaret Thatcher, who declared herself an Anglican without ever being admitted to any Church of the Anglican Communion.
Were you baptised and confirmed into a Church of the Anglican Communion? If so, you remain an Anglican unless you have openly rejected our faith. (I imagine that, for example, Tony Blair no longer considers himself Anglican).
By saying "...where parishioners can worship" may I presume this is a place in the service where parishioners can manifest spiritual gifts such as prophesying, interpreting, and speaking in tongues? I formerly had a friend who was part of the People of Praise Community in South Bend, IN. He was Charismatic Catholic although the community itself was much more diverse including a priest I knew from ECUSA/TEC. I never attended a Charismatic Catholic mass but I did attend a charismatic wedding which was different than anything I had experienced before or since. Is a CEC worship service something like that?
Not quite. Mostly just some worshipping with hands raised much more subdued than Assembly of God that I grew up in.
I guess "charismatic" doesn't mean the same everywhere, eh? My Charismatic Catholic friends looked a lot more like Pentecostals.
Yep. I been to Charismatic outings where there was all out tongues and such and than others that were so toned down that I thought it was a non Charismatic service. On the other hand all Pentecostal services seem similar to me
I can't find anything compatible between those terrible Pentecostal outbursts and our Liturgy, but if it's some sort of raising of hands combined with quiet and chaste internal prayers (among the faithful who are otherwise good and orthodox), then orthodoxy is much more important.
