Would you say the Jehovah's Witnesses or the Branch Davidians are true churches? Just wondering....

I know what you mean - 10 minutes is a very short time - I would think that once a post has been quoted by someone else or liked it should be blocked from editing.

LOL I think the point was all denominations tend to view theirs as the one true church, that is why they break away in the first place... :)

Some posters have abused the feature by changing their posts long after the submission. This can substantially the flow of a conversation. All posting should be done responsibly. Posters have the ability to edit their posts for 10 minutes after submitting.

OK thanks Admin, but is it possible to block editing once a post has been replied to?

Unfortunately it can only be done on a timed basis.

That is a problem for me then I believe I should have the ability to edit my posts without this 10 minute time limit.

I also wish we had longer than 10 minutes. Sometimes I post something that I regret but can't edit because of the 10 minute limit. I wish we had 30 minutes, at least. That would seem reasonable.

Edit: editing timeout has been raised to 30 minutes.

I agree with you two. Commenting on a forum is not writing a essay or dissertation, it is just chatting with others and sometimes in the rush some may get things wrong and want to edit what they wrote. Thirty minutes seems a good limit

I don't support any time limits at all.
